Action in the PYP can take place at any
stage of the learning process. It is initiated by the learners and anything
from a change in feelings or ideas to a service to the school or larger
community counts as action. Action is the result of learning. It gives learners
ownership in making their world a better place to live in. Learners engage in
an action cycle of choosing, acting and reflecting on their actions as a
regular practice. Successful inquiry will lead to responsible action that is
initiated by the learner which in turn will contribute to each learner
establishing a personal set of values.
